Marie Cool I Fabio Balducci

Untitled

Stripped of all expressive or theatrical intention and produced from a body of items consciously limited to a few everyday objects (sheets of A 4 paper, wire, adhesive tape pencils) a phenomena such as light, shade and movement the performances of Marie Cool and Fabio Balducci, who have worked together since 1995, depict simple and repetitive gestures which are often slow and externally precise. Since 2005, they have also produced drawings reworked with a photocopier. The random effects generated by opening the lid of the machine during the reproduction process give these drawings a fragile air that relates to the tenuousness of their performance and lends the figures represented a specific spatiality and temporality.
